Using Intellexer SDK

Intellexer Categorizer SDK: Create Virtual Catalogue for Document Categorization

EffectiveSoft presents Intellexer SDK (Software Development Kit) - an effective tool intended for the enhancement of your applications with information retrieval and knowledge processing functionality. Our developers included in the SDK package only a base functional in order to provide a fair price. However SDK is very flexible and can be used to create many high-level tools. Using this semantic SDK correctly it is possible to realize practically any software solution.

Not so long ago our potential customer asked me the question: Does you Categorizer SDK supports subcategories?

Actually, our solution doesn't allow working with subcategories. But Categorizer SDK purchasers can easily create this functionality with the help of the SDK tools. Also there is an opportunity to order new necessary features development and customization at our company but this service is for the additional payment.

So, applying to Categorizer we should remember that the Virtual catalogue structure (subcategories) and the SDK standard categories are different things. Only the user of our semantic solution decides how they will interact with each other. I should point out that the Virtual catalogue can be any form you need unlike the standard categories where we can’t change the structure of the catalogue.

Now I'll show you a simple example how to set up the subcategories.


Let's imagine that we have the following catalogue structure:

Category - Shops

Sub category - Online Shops

Then we develop the set of rules such as:

Sub category - Online Shop will contains documents which

  • > 80 % relevance Online Shops Subcategory
  • > 50% relevance to Shops category
  • < 5% relevance (irrelevant) to Offline shops category.

Categorizer has the tool estimates every document proximity degree to this or that category. And as it's seen from the example, this proximity degree can be used for the rules system development in order to define the document position in the catalogue. So, according to the positive and negative proximity, all the documents are distributed to groups with the relevancy to each category.

We've created the subcategories (Virtual catalogue). But the main thing in this process is to categorize the documents within categories and subcategories. Thus, to get this goal we’ve invented the logical model with the help of the Virtual catalogue, rules system and semantic Categorizer.

This example is very useful as it shows how it can be easy to enhance your software solution using our SDK. Moreover, with the help of the SDK package you will stop thinking of:
